The actor made the heart-breaking revelation in the wake of the tragic storyline in the soap that sees his character Steve McDonald and on-screen wife Michelle Connor lose their baby.
Fans are aware Simon’s co-star Kym Marsh lost her son Archie prematurely in 2009.
But Corrie viewers did not know of Simon’s own heart-break.
Reacting to a troll on Twitter the actor messaged: ”To the £&)(; who tweeted my wife. We’ve lost 11 baby’s 1st being 21 weeks 4 days.DEVASTATED: Coronation Street viewers were unaware of Simon’s heartbreak
”Maybe think or do your research before tweeting someone (sic).’’
Simon, 42, and wife of seven years Emma are parents to three boys – Alfie, nine, Harry, seven, and one-year-old Teddy.
The couple previously revealed Teddy was a twin but they lost the other baby early in the pregnancy.
Speaking to OK! magazine Emma said: ”Sadly only one of the twins survived.
“We’ve lost 11 baby’s 1st being 21 weeks 4 days”
”We’re very lucky to have this one.
”There’s no reason or explanation for it.
”It was just one of those things.

”We just thought that everything happens for a reason.’’
Simon also shared a link to SayingGoodbye.org which helps parents and families following the loss of a child.
Earlier this week Kym opened up about their Corrie storyline and said she can feel ‘proud’ of her performance as she hopes to support other people going through the same devastating experience.
Michelle and Steve will lose their baby later this week in heart-breaking circumstances.
Steve is set to blame himself.
Speaking about the difficult storyline and watching the scenes back for the first time Kym told OK! it had been ‘traumatic’ following her own personal experience.
”Watching it back reinforced why I agreed to do the storyline in the first place – to help other people who’ve gone through something similar,’’ she said.
”I think we’ve done it justice and I can be proud of it.
”Yes, I’ve been to some dark places and I’ve had to revisit the emotions I felt when I lost Archi.
”But hopefully some people will gain from it.’’
She added: ”I’ve had a lot of lovely messages already from both charities that raise awareness of stillbirth and from other ‘angel mummies’, as we call ourselves, who have been through a similar traumatic experience.
”My family have been really supportive and are proud of me.’’
Simon’s revelation comes after the soap left viewers outraged by playing an ‘insensitive song choice’ in an episode where Michelle was rushed to hospital after complications with her unborn baby.
Viewers flocked to social media to blast the playing of the Bay City Rollers’ Bye Bye Baby as “disgraceful’” and “inappropriate”.
