Saracens centre Brad Barritt has received a three-week ban for a dangerous tackle on Geoff Parling, which resulted in the Exeter lock leaving the field on a stretcher.
Barritt and team-mate Richard Barrington were both cited following their double tackle on Parling during Saracens’ 13-13 draw with Exeter at Allianz Park last Saturday.
The England centre escaped a sanction for his high tackle but Barrington was sent off by referee Ian Tempest for his subsequent shoulder charge on Parling.

The pair appeared before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel in London on Tuesday.
Following the hearing, Barrington was cleared to play but Barritt, who pleaded guilty to a dangerous tackle, was handed a three-week ban.
‘Following very careful analysis, the panel found that Mr Barrington had not committed the act of foul play alleged,’ read a statement from the three-man disciplinary panel.
The incident arose out of the specific dynamic of Mr Parling falling unconscious into what would have otherwise been a legitimate contact by Mr Barrington.

‘In line with the new sanctions a mid-range entry of six weeks was imposed on Mr Barritt reduced to three weeks in light of mitigation including his guilty plea.’
World Rugby introduced tough new directives on high tackles on January 3 in a bid to increase player safety.
Barritt will be free to play again on January 31 but will miss his side’s forthcoming European Champions Cup clashes with Scarlets and Toulon.
The Sarries midfielder took to Twitter on Monday to apologise for his part in the incident.
‘No one likes seeing a fellow player get injured, and it’s even more disappointing when I’m involved,’ Barritt posted.
‘I take responsibility for my misjudgement of the tackle and assure you no malice was intended.’
